European Approach

Joint programmes are the hallmark of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
A joint programmes is an integrated curriculum coordinated jointly by different higher education institutions from EHEA countries, and leading to double/multiple degrees or a joint degree .

The present European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes has been developed to facilitate the external quality assurance of these programmes. In particular, it will:
- remove obstacles to the development of joint programmes by setting standards that are based on the agreed tools of the EHEA, without applying additional national criteria, and
- facilitate integrated approaches to quality assurance of joint programmes that genuinely reflect the joint character of the programmes.

VLUHR QAU developed a manual. This manual describes the assessment protocol used by VLUHR QAU. The manual is intended for both the programmes and institutions involved as well as the assessment panels.

VLUHR QAU is an EQAR registered agency that carries out assessments in the EHEA.
